This tool was created to have artistic control over volumes post-simulation. In a situation where a volume simulation has the desired movement, with the exception of small plumes that stand out, this tool could be used to masked out problem areas without having to re-simulate.

The tool can mask scalar or vector volumes using another volume or custom geometry as a mask. The tool has controls for adding noise and feathering out the edge of the mask, and options to choose if the mask is subtractive or additive.
